Tropic Elegance & Specialty Merchandise was founded by Levetta & Mr Emanuel Edwards from Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada. Levetta Edwards the President is a Designer and Seamstress by Profession.
The business was started in the basement of Levetta & Emanuel's home in 1987. Over the years, and by the steady growth of our Clientel, Tropic Elegance and Specialty Merchandise entered the commerical Market and was launched in May 1995.
At that time Tropic Elegance was non other than a local Taylor shop. However, with increased sales and the high demand for it's services, it was expanded to include Specialty Gift Items, Bridal Accessories, Hair Products, Skin Care Products, Retail Clothing, Wedding Gowns, Display Items (eg Labelers, Steamers, Bows, Ribbons) Preservations and much more Specialty items.
Levetta Edwards custom design clothing any size, any design. Two, three or even four styles can be combined into one. Patterns are welcome, but if you don't have a pattern we draft our own. Styles can be copied or adjustment made to a favorite dress or formal wear and when it comes to Alterations we are #1 in Winnipeg and Western Canada.
Our goal is to make you feel good and look great. We offer professionalism, excellent service and quality workmanship. Everything is taylored to our customer's satisfaction and no job is too big or too small for us to do. (eg) We can grade down to a size 22 to fit a size 8 and up from size 8 to a size 18.
Tropic Elegance main goal is to satisfy our customers. We aim to have our customers leave our store with a smile on their face and also to make their wedding day something they can remember for the rest of their life.
The President (Levetta Edwards) was featured on numerous wedding shows and television stations like CKY Television, CKND TV and the Caribbean Connection. She displayed some of her chic patterns and custom made dresses at the yearly Bridal Show in Winnpeg, Manitoba Canada. Mrs Edwards (The President) was blessed with immense patience and excellent listening skills which she applies to her job and her interaction with clients. This has helped to make her one of the most sought after consultant in the Bridal and Formal Wear industry in Western Canada.
She has tremendous knowledge about textile (Fabrics) which enable her to guide her customer on what type of fabric suitable for certain styles. She seldom says no to Alterations. Over the years in business she became well known by lots of Brides, Mother of the Brides and Grads. Levetta Edwards combine variety with Elegance.
